- Matches will be played in accordance with World Rugby Laws of the Game, as modified for 7-a-side rugby, with squads of up to 12 people. Only 10 players may be used in a match with rolling substitutes
- All games will be 7 minutes each way with 1 minute for the teams to change ends at half time.
- Teams are asked to be at their designated pitch 5 minutes before kick off time so that the match schedule can run to time. Any team arriving late may be asked to forfeit the game
- The mens's and women’s pools will be drawn at random. Each team will play at least 4 matches at this stage
- 4 points will be awarded for a win and 2 point for a draw, with league points deciding the positions
- At the end of the pool stages, in the event of sides being level on points, precedence shall be determined on the following basis:
- Most number of wins
- Highest points difference
- Most points scored
- Head-to-head result
- Coin toss
- Entry into the knock-out competition will be seeded using the pool positions.
- If the scores are equal at the end of 1/4- or 1/2-final game, the winner will be the team who scored the most tries in that game. If still unresolved then the winner will be the team who scored the first try. In the event of no tries being scored, the result will be decided by a coin toss
- If the scores are equal at the end of the final, a period of extra-time will be played consisting of 5-mins each way, and the winner will be the first team to score a point (try, drop goal or penalty). If the game remains unresolved then further periods of extra-time will be played until a winner is decided.
- These laws are set by RFU across the Secure Trading Sevens series and any disputes will be adjudicated by the Tournament Referee, whose decision is final
- Yellow card offences will result in 2 minutes in the sin bin for the offending player
- Red card offences will be reviewed by the disciplinary panel and sanctions governed by the World Rugby Regulations for sevens.
- Remember 7’s is a game to be played for fun, to make friends, it is not so much the winning but the participating. Players and supporters are expected to show good sportsmanship at all times
- ENJOY!!
